Travertine vs. Marble: Selecting Your Sculptural Anchor

At Mayze Atelier, we believe in grounded luxury. Every piece we make starts with honest materials, careful design, and a deep respect for nature. Our signature pieces are carved from two beautiful stones: Italian A-grade travertine and Calacatta marble.

Knowing what makes each stone special helps you choose a custom, heirloom piece that brings lasting beauty to your home.

  1. The Earthy Warmth of Travertine: Travertine is a true anchor for our collections. Loved for its rich texture and earthy warmth, it fits perfectly into an Organic Modern home. In natural light, the fine details of the stone really shine. It is a material that ages beautifully, carrying the story of its craft from the quarry straight to your living space.

  2. The Timeless Elegance of Marble: Calacatta marble offers a bold, classic look. With its striking natural lines, this stone easily fits into Quiet Luxury spaces. Whether it shapes a delicate side piece or a grand dining table, marble stands as a timeless focal point in any room.

Preserving the Natural Beauty

While both stones are enduring, they interact with your home differently.

  1. Travertine is celebrated for its matte, porous character. To maintain its organic feel, it simply requires a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Because of its texture, it is more forgiving of minor dust and wear over time.

  2. Marble is a denser, more polished stone. While it is naturally cool and hard, it is sensitive to acidic liquids. To keep its classic luster, we recommend using coasters and promptly wiping away spills to prevent etching.

Designed With Intention

Both stones reflect our core belief: designed with intention, rooted in care. Whether you love the warm texture of travertine or the classic finish of marble, your chosen piece will stand as an heirloom in your home for years to come.
